Pariah brought to the Hundai many talents, of willed flight, short range telepathy, and the most frightening of all, to see into and perhaps destroy the very souls of men. "A remarkable and promising talent," thought some, "too dangerous to let live."

Pariah crawled from the wood into her destiny. "Know them...and judge them" whispered the old willow, and so it would be. What was a frightened girl became a woman driven, enduring unthinkable trials and distrust, til atlast a member of the elite "Hundai"--the gifted, the watchers, the judges.
